| Justin Timberlake Announces Release Date For ‘The 20/20 Experience’ Part 2 Posted: 05 May 2013 12:52 PM PDT  Justin Timberlake has quietly announced on Instagram the release date for his next album. On Sunday, the "Mirrors" crooner posted a photo of himself, with a guitar and headphones in hand, and a piece of paper with the words, "THE 20/20 EXPERIENCE (2 OF 2) SEPT. 30TH." The album will be released some six months after the highly successful The 20/20 Experience (let's just call this one 1 of 2), which to date has sold more than 1.5 million copies. The album, the best selling of 2013 so far, is also Timberlake’s most successful solo product. Are you looking forward to part two of “The 20/20 Experience?” |
| ‘Iron Man 3’ Has Huge Opening Weekend With $175.3M Posted: 05 May 2013 11:49 AM PDT  Tony Stark made plenty of noise at the box office this weekend. Iron Man 3, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the title hero, grossed some $175 million in North America, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's a historical achievement, as the film is only second to The Avengers for the title of biggest opening of all time. (The 2012 picture opened with $207 million nearly one year ago). Iron Man 3 has also done wonders overseas, grossing another $175.9 million in its second weekend of release. For those keeping track, that's a whopping $680.1 million in total ticket sales. Way behind in second place was last week's box office winner Pain & Gain, with a mere $7.6 million, followed by the baseball biopic 42 with $6.2 million. Tom Cruise's latest picture Oblivion grossed $5.8 million this weekend, bringing its total to $76 million, while the 3D animated flick The Croods round out the top five, with $4.2 million. To date, the film, which features the voices of Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone and Nicolas Cage, has grossed more than $165 million. Summer's just getting started, movie lovers. On deck for the month of May: The Great Gatsby (May 10), Star Trek Into Darkness (May 17), Fast & Furious 6 (May 24), The Hangover 3 (May 24) and After Earth (May 31). The Daily Mail reports that Prince Harry is telling people Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are having a boy this July. Despite no confirmation on the sex of the baby from the palace, the spare is apparently so over-the-moon about becoming an uncle. “Harry has been telling everyone Wills and Kate are having a boy and how thrilled he is at the prospect of having a little nephew,” a source told the Mail. Apparently Princess Eugenie has also been flapping her gums about the third-in-line being a boy. “The close inner circle all know that it's a boy and they're busily buying gifts with a boy theme,” another source told the Sunday People. ”There will be an awful lot if blue in their house.” Adding fuel to the fire, Kate told a group of army wives on St. Patrick’s day that she bought a light blue Bugaboo stroller. All this comes as a surprise to me, knowing that Harry is fiercely protective of his privacy and that of his sister-in-law’s. Before ending his tour of duty in Afghanistan, Captain Wales (as he’s known in the British army) told reporters how pleased he was to hear from Will and Kate about their impending arrival, but that Kate deserves to be protected. "I literally am very, very happy for them," Harry said at Camp Bastion in January. “I just only hope that she and him – but mainly Catherine – hopefully that she gets the necessary protection to allow her as a mother-to-be to enjoy the privacy that that comes with. I seriously hope that's going to be able to happen." |
| Rihanna Shows Off Long Hair, Long Legs At Brooklyn Nets Game Posted: 05 May 2013 10:50 AM PDT  What do you do if your concert's been rescheduled because of an NBA Playoff game? Why, watch the game courtside, of course. That's exactly what Rihanna did on Saturday, as the Brooklyn Nets faced the Chicago Bulls in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The 25-year-old singer, who was supposed to perform at the arena on the same night, showed up to the game in short shorts, a black tank top, heels that, according to RiRi, could "trip a referee," and a spankin' new hairdo.
Rihanna's night continued well after the game, as she hosted an after party at Jay-Z's 40/40 club to watch the Floyd Mayweather fight from Las Vegas. RiRi will take center stage for her Diamonds World Tour at the Barclays Center on Sunday night, before heading to Boston for a show on Monday. | Could Season 4 of ‘Downton Abbey’ Be Lady Edith’s Finest? Posted: 05 May 2013 10:19 AM PDT  Downton Abbey‘s Laura Carmichael and executive producer Gareth Neame popped over to Santa Monica’s Fairmont Miramar Hotel on Friday to help BritWeek celebrate the famed ITV series. “It's my first time in LA. and it's lovely to come and meet other Brits who are here and doing great things and showing me the ropes,” Carmichael, in a powder blue dress and matching shoes by Christopher Kane, told us on the red carpet. Carmichael plays the oft down-and-out middle sister, Lady Edith, who was most recently left at the altar by Sir Anthony. Fear not, though, for Edith has found herself possibly entering into another May-December relationship. This time with Michael Gregson, her editor at The Sketch. Edith confirmed to us that he will be around this season. “She's sort of found a voice for herself and someone is interested in her for that reason,” Carmichael told us of their bond. And what about her penchant for older men? ”She's loves it,” Carmichael said. ”Or is it that they love her?” Cheeky girl! Ok, on to an equally important topic: Fashion. “It's fantastic,” Carmichael said about the era that put drop-waists on the map. ”Season 4 we're in the '20s, so I've got a lot of great costumes coming up. “Edith is having s bit of a great time, really. She's got a job as a writer in London, so she reflects some of the newer fashions.” Everyone fancies themselves a bit of Downton style, so we wanted to know how the costume designers come up with such gorgeous pieces. “All costumes are pretty much custom made,” Carmichael said. ”We look for originals and we'll use if they're in good enough shape. They're 100 years old, so quite often we'll use a bit of the fabric. “I have one that we've nicknamed ‘Beadith’ because its covered in beads. It's an original piece of beading. | Hey Reese Witherspoon, Where’d You Get That Hat? Posted: 05 May 2013 09:32 AM PDT  Is Reese Witherspoon making fun of herself? Or letting everyone know things are really good with the Atlanta Police Department? On Saturday, the 37-year-old actress was spotted arriving at Los Angeles International Airport with her husband Jim Toth and their baby boy Tennessee. But it was perhaps her hat that drew the most attention from photographers and fellow airport patrons alike. The sighting of the accessory, which read the words "City of Atlanta Police" along with the department's insignia, comes some two weeks after news broke of Witherspoon and Toth's arrest in the same city, where the actress has been filming.
On Apr. 19, Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct after her husband was handcuffed by Atlanta police on suspicion of a DUI. Recordings of the arrest and exchange between the actress and the officer have since been leaked; Witherspoon herself has also addressed the exchange. "I [had] no idea what I was saying that night," the Legally Blonde star said on Good Morning America. "I saw [the officer] arresting my husband and I literally panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I told him I was pregnant. I'm not pregnant! I said crazy things." On Thursday, the couple entered pleas — no contest for her, guilty for him — that resulted in fines and community service. "The pending criminal matters against Ms. Reese Witherspoon and Mr. Jim Toth have been resolved," Deputy Solicitor for the Municipal Court of Atlanta Ronda "Roni" Graham said in a statement. | ‘SNL’ Recap: Zach Galifianakis Wants To Shower With Jamie Lannister Posted: 05 May 2013 08:54 AM PDT  Zach Galifianakis is so much more than that funny bearded guy from The Hangover movies. On Saturday, the actor took over the stages of Saturday Night Live and delivered one of the season's more entertaining episodes (up there with Justin Timberlake and Joseph Gordon-Levitt). In his opening monologue, Galifianakis presented joke after joke, some accompanied by his piano-playing skills, before opening an Altoids box that was supposed to be a cellphone. Decked out in a green dragon costume, Galifianakis later took part in a game show sketch called "Game of Game of Thrones," where he faced real life questions ("What is the capital of Wisconsin?") while his opponents answered book-related trivia. Following the wild fire round, he gets a question from none other than Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, aka. Jamie Lannister on the HBO series. "Nikolaj I have dreamed about meeting you for so long," Galifianakis, in his dragon outfit, says. "Look at that jaw. I bet you smell like Drakkar . . . I just want you to know, I would make a great best friend. We could go to the movies, we could share jeans, we could shower together, even though I wouldn't look down. I would want to." Galifianakis was later joined by his Hangover co-stars Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, who played themselves in a Jennifer Aniston lookalike contest.
Jon Hamm also made a surprise guest appearance in a two-part sketch that deserves more watching than explaining:

| Queen Maxima of the Netherlands Leads The Tiara Parade Posted: 04 May 2013 06:37 PM PDT  Last Tuesday, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands followed in the footsteps of her mother and grandmother by abdicating the throne. This practice isn’t unheard of, but it certainly isn’t the norm in most royal cases. Beatrix made the announcement on January 28th of this year, prompting many to ask, “Would Queen Elizabeth do the same?” The simple answer is “no.” Even in her last years, Queen Victoria was still sovereign, despite others carrying out the day-to-day duties that Her Majesty could not. Beatrix celebrated her retirement with a formal dinner on April 29th, followed by a ceremony for her son’s inauguration April 30th. The Dutch throne now belongs to King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, who joins Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and the Duchess of Cambridgeas Europe’s style stars. "Thank you Houston for the amazing love!!!!" Kim, who dressed up her baby bump in a black dress, wrote on Twitter and Instagram on Saturday.
"Magical day at Willowbrook Mall in Houston!!! Thank you to everyone who continues to make our dreams come true!! #Sears," Khloe, who donned a leopard print skirt and black top, wrote on her Celebuzz blog. | This Week In Celebrity Twitpics Posted: 03 May 2013 04:02 PM PDT  It looks like summer vacation is starting early for the stars this year. This week brought the beginning of May, and with that, lots of new Twitpics and Instagram posts to celebrate the sweet smell of a new season. While it’s technically still business as usual, the stars are starting to spend more and more time out and about, enjoying themselves. Lea Michele spent her weekend out with her main squeeze on and off-screen, Cory Monteith in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks in the 2013 NHL Playoffs. The Glee actress posted a selfie onto her Twitter to commemorate the occasion. The hockey game was one of the first post-rehab sightings of Montieth (he checked himself in last month on the behest of Michele). Over in the Big Apple, Joe Jonas posted a picture of himself beaming at Miss Lily’s & Melvin’s Juice Box, a juice bar in Lower Manhattan. With a three month long world tour coming up in June, it looks like this Jonas Brother is making the most of the little down time he has before his fully-packed summer. Another singer enjoying their downtime is Katy Perry, who went sightseeing in Washington D.C. after attending the White House Correspondents Dinner a day prior. | Here’s Who We Spotted At The Kentucky Derby Posted: 04 May 2013 02:52 PM PDT  Another year, another Kentucky Derby filled with enough hats fit for a royal wedding. On Saturday, the stars came out in their formal best for the 139th race at Churchill Downs. Lauren Conrad went with a nude look from head-to-toe. The fashionista let her headpiece do most of the talking, wearing minimal jewelry for the outing.
Meanwhile, model Coco Rocha went with a pale pink blazer and matching skirt by Zac Posen. Her orchid-adorned headpiece was designed by milliner to the royals (and stars) Philip Treacy, according to Rocha's Twitter. The men also got fancy for the race: Joey Fatone donned a checkered pink-and-white suit and bowtie, Arrow star Stephen Amell elevated his navy blue suit with a striped green tie while Jason Biggs went with a checkered jacket and blue pants. | The New Season Of ‘True Blood’ Looks Really, Really Good Posted: 04 May 2013 01:52 PM PDT  The last time a new True Blood episode aired on HBO, it was a different season. It was summer, there was a bit of a bloodbath, and "Billith" was born. Now, as fans count down the days until the season six premiere (June 16, if you don't already have it on your calendar), HBO has unleashed a brand new trailer for the new season. Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), Sookie (Anna Paquin) and the gang are back. Like previous seasons, there's plenty of skin (how many times will Alcide take off his shirt this time around?), plenty of red and plenty of drama. True Blood season six premieres on HBO June 16. | Justin Bieber Is Not Gay, Contrary To What You May Have Read On E!’s Twitter Posted: 04 May 2013 01:22 PM PDT  Beliebers around the world and E! Online's Twitter account were victims of a prank on Saturday, as news about Justin Bieber's sexual orientation began to spread. The post that started it all went live at around 10 a.m. PT, on E!'s Twitter, which has more than 5 million followers:
The account has since been suspended. "Our account @eonline has been compromised and some incorrect information as sent out. We're working with Twitter now to fix this," the network announced on its news Twitter account.
According to The Wrap, E! Online's text message subscribers also received a number of other messages during the hack, including one that read, "E! News Breaking: Justin Bieber arrested in Dubai due to false tweets with him coming out situation developing." Bieber, who himself has more than 38 million followers on Twitter, is scheduled to perform in Dubai on Saturday night, followed by a second show on Sunday.
