| Watch: Why Sofia Vergara’s Golden Globes Aren’t Awesome For The Oscars Posted: 13 Feb 2013 11:32 AM PST 16Although she's a Golden Globe- and SAG-nominated actress for her role on the popular sitcom Modern Family, Sofia Vergara is probably best known for her voluptuous figure – a fact that the actress knows all too well. At the recent Los Angeles press day for the new animated film Escape From Planet Earth, she told Celebuzz she's always eager to poke fun at her curvy physique, precisely because she knows how much it has helped her career. "It's my reality," Vergara says. "It has opened so many doors for me, I would be ungrateful to deny that being voluptuous and sexy hasn't helped me." That said, Vergara acknowledges that being a buxom Latina has its drawbacks as well, including having limited options when the time comes to pick out a dress for the Oscars, which she hopes to attend this year.
"I cannot just wear something that is in fashion or just something because it's beautiful or sexy," she admits. "I have to wear stuff that looks good for my body, because [if I don't], then it could be like a horror movie." Whether her appearance turns out like "a horror movie" or the height of style remains uncertain, since she's unsure if she'll be able to attend at all. "I might have to work in New York, so I might not," she reveals. "But I would love to go." After her previous trip to the Oscars, however, she's keen to come back. "I had a great time last year at the Vanity Fair party – I sat at a table with Tom Ford, and it was a lot of fun." Escape From Planet Earth opens in theaters nationwide on February 15. | Is Romance In The Cards For ‘Arrow’s’ Felicity And Oliver? Posted: 13 Feb 2013 01:10 PM PST  Get ready for a whole lot more Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) on The CW's Arrow! Can we get an amen? The fan favorite is about to be brought into Oliver's (Stephen Amell) inner circle on Wednesday’s episode, "The Odyssey," but she will also be upped to series regular for Season 2, ensuring her involvement with Starling City's favorite vigilante is not going to end in fatal danger. "My favorite part is that the relationships start to change,” Rickards told Celebuzz. “With Oliver, she's still a super nervous human being, and that doesn't change, God bless her; she's awesome. That doesn't change, but she starts to trust Oliver, and I think it becomes very sweet," Rickards said. "Oliver never really lets his guard down for anyone, but having her there creates a different dynamic — even just having a female there in the lair and in that relationship. It loosens some things; it becomes more comfortable; and we'll see that relationship evolve definitely into the first season." Oliver turns to Felicity for help getting back to his lair after getting shot in a tense stand-off at the top of "The Odyssey" episode. But the timing couldn't be more perfect, because Rickards feels Felicity was onto Oliver anyway. She may not have been given opportunity to prove she knew what was going on before he admits who he is to her, but it all clicks into place immediately, and it causes Felicity to spring into action. "I think the energy drink in the syringe was quite the [last straw] for her… She had her hunches, I'll say that. She definitely knew something was up with him. He's not exactly the most comfortable human being for her to be around, and I think her first instinct was ‘there's definitely something going on,’" Rickards said. "The way she finds out with him in the back of her car [is] extremely terrifying, but when he takes off the hood, it clarifies everything. She's very systematic about the way she thinks about things. When I was doing my research for that scene… it was just like all the lights in her mind went green. She was like, 'That makes sense!'" Rickards shared that she believes Felicity's own stance on the vigilante's actions and a sense of justice in general changed the minute she learned who was under the hood "because she knows Oliver," but she noted that it will change again as the next batch of episodes unfold and she gets to know Oliver even better. "He's no longer just the façade of a millionaire man; he's a real human being trying to help other people and have gotten himself into this lifestyle, if you will, and now there's no barrier between them there. Her view on justice does change as well, because of Oliver, but she really does want to keep her morals strong," Rickards said. "There is an art thief that steals a precious jewel, and [Felicity] tries to get Oliver to take him — to grab somebody who isn't actually on the list. It's something that Felicity has her paws in and says 'This isn't right. You can't just stick to people on the list; there's other people out there who are bad, too!'" As Felicity and Oliver and Diggle (David Ramsey) get closer and work together more, the dynamics between the characters will shift and evolve accordingly. One thing Rickards shared she would love to get to do is actually train with the guys ("She needs some physical fitness in her life, too; she can't just be stuck behind a computer her whole life!"), and come Season 2, she said that would actually become a reality. Whether or not Oliver and Felicity's relationship would become anything more than platonic, though, was something still to be determined. "For me, when we're working in the foundry and on different scenes with Oliver, it seems more friendship-based, and it's always more 'Trust me, trust me.' There's some sort of family camaraderie, and there's also a spark. They do have chemistry. Whether it's romantic chemistry or friendship chemistry, that's up for debate," Rickards said. | Kristin Cavallari Trashes MTV: Producers ‘Forced Me To Be A B*tch’ Posted: 13 Feb 2013 11:07 AM PST Kristin Cavallari insists her mean girl image was nothing but an illusion for the cameras. The former MTV reality star dished about her days on Laguna Beach in an interview with The Chicago Sun-Times‘ Splash magazine, giving an inside look at her off-screen relationship with the cast and crew. “The producers were really crappy to me,” the 25-year-0ld said about starring in the wildly popular MTV series. “I felt like everybody was against me and manipulating me, and that forced me to be a bitch.”
During her days on Laguna, Cavallari and arch-rival Lauren Conrad took the term “frienemies” to a whole new level as the pair vied for Stephen Coletti‘s affections from 2004 to 2006. This isn’t the first time Cavallari has taken the opportunity to shed light (via People) on her TV stint. In a December 2012 appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, she told host Andy Cohen: “I feel like they put things in our heads. We were 17 and 18, and they made it a lot worse than it was.” After graduating from high school, Cavallari bid adieu to her hometown and moved to Los Angeles “so people could forget about Kristin from Laguna Beach.” “I was known as the bad girl. And once you have that image, it’s so hard to change it,” she admitted. While Laguna Beach occasionally featured faux storylines, Cavallari admits that The Hills was entirely scripted. “They did everything short of handing us a script,” she claims. “I had two lives: my Hills life and my real life.” In 2005, Cavallari joined the cast of The Hills during the middle of season 5, following Conrad’s departure. “I embraced it, and played a caricature of myself,” she explained of her experience. “l decided to have fun with it this time.” She may have found herself on a new show, but the catty feuds followed suit. Cavallari regularly quarreled with her Hills costars Audrina Patridge and Stephanie Pratt, but nowadays, the trio has made peace. “People are always surprised by how nice I am in real life,” she said. While the cast remains on good terms, don’t expect a on-air reunion anytime soon. “We’ll see. I don't see it actually happening,” she exclusively told Celebuzz. “So much has happened in my life since The Hills," she added. “For me to mentally go back to the place would be difficult. I've sort of moved on from it all.” With the drama behind her, Cavallari is putting focus on her main priorities. The blonde beauty is now a proud parent to 6-month-0ld baby Camden with fiance, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. The trio currently reside in Winnetka, Ill. | Lilo’s Gone AWOL — And Her Lawyer Is Fed Up Posted: 13 Feb 2013 09:06 AM PST  Even her lawyers agree — Lindsay Lohan is beyond control. The ever-embattled actress faces a pending lawsuit after paparazzo Grigor Balyan claimed he was run over by Lohan’s car in 2010, an accident he alleged left him badly injured. Though Lohan was riding shotgun, Balyan’s lawyer, Neil Steiner, has said the star is still at fault because the driver was operating under her instruction. But as the suit has sat on the back burner, Balyan recently filed documents accusing Lohan of partying while avoiding her legal woes. Now one of the lawyers to the Liz & Dick actress, Julia Azrael, is pleading that she should not be held responsible for Lohan’s lack of cooperation with the courts. “I have made many efforts to convince Lohan to appear for her deposition,” Azrael, who represents Lohan against Balyan, writes in court documents. “I do not know how to reach her directly.” The attorney goes on to explain that he has no direct access to Lohan. Instead, Azrael is tasked with going through the star’s New York-based lawyer, Mark Heller, to reach Lohan. But all efforts have come to no avail, Azrael claimed in the documents. Balyan has called upon the court to fine Lohan and Azrael for evading the pending lawsuit. Now the decision lies in a judge’s hands to determine whether or not Azrael should be held accountable for Lohan’s AWOL status. Lohan is still facing three misdemeanor charges stemming from her involvement in a car accident last summer. During a January hearing, Lohan pleaded not guilty to lying to police, reckless driving, and obstructing officers from performing their duties, all from an incident in June, in which she crashed her black Porsche into the back of a garbage truck on the Pacific Coast Highway. As a result of the charges, Lohan's probation, for which she was placed on after she was accused of stealing a necklace from a Los Angeles-area jeweler, was revoked. During a sunny outing in Los Angeles, Kim Kardashian fended off her pregnancy cravings, thanks to a heaping helpful of frozen yogurt. The expectant mom and her beau Kanye West enjoyed some quality time together, stopping by Pinkberry on Tuesday afternoon for a cool snack. Kardashian held tightly onto two cups of yogurt as she opted for a not-so-typical maternity ensemble: a black v-neck, a plaid shirt, leather leggings and sky-high laced boots.
Kanye kept close to Kardashian during their downtime and the pair eventually met up with Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian Odom, making for one grand family reunion. The E! reality star and the rapper recently returned from a romantic getaway to Rio de Janerio, Brazil, where they attended the world-famous Carnival, an annual festival held every year before the Lenten season. During their vacation, Kim and Kanye took in the sight and sounds of the Brazilian city and even bonded with Will Smith, who partied in the same hotel as the couple. “Will Smith gets the crowd going!!!!” she tweeted. | Royal Fury: ‘Star’ Magazine Publishes New Photos Of Kate Middleton’s Baby Bump In A Bikini Posted: 13 Feb 2013 11:30 AM PST  The American tabloid magazine Star faces royal condemnation Wednesday after it published photos of a pregnant Kate Middleton clad in a revealing bikini while holidaying with Prince William on Mustique, a small private island that is part of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. In a shock move, the publication splashed the contentious images across its cover under the headline “Exclusive Royal Photos: Kate Shows Off Baby Bump!”, despite St. James Palace releasing a statement Tuesday saying it was "disappointed" that the pictures had been printed in Italian tabloid Chi. The monarchy called the images “a clear breach of the couple's right to privacy.” (Click to Chi’s parent website, Mondadori.com, to see the magazine cover; the magazine is the same Italian tabloid that published a 26-page spread of Kate’s topless photos last September.) According to royal watcher Tom Sykes, the publication of the images will “devastate” William and Kate, with the pair having hoped legal action against French publication Closer last year would scare off such behavior. “The fact that a photographer has been able to get close enough to take these new pictures will be a huge blow for privately owned Mustique, which has thrived on its reputation as a papparazzi-free enclave,” Sykes wrote on The Daily Beast. He added, “Mustique is as famous for its white-sand beaches as it is for the omertà that ensures that very little celebrity tittle-tattle ever makes it off the island. The Mustique Company boasts that it is ‘dedicated to protecting the island's privacy.’” “As in previous years, the island will have been more or less locked down for the royal visit, and other guests at the Caribbean hotspot will have faced a range of (futile) strictures to protect the Middletons' privacy, including a ban on using the souped-up golf buggies (or "mules") that are the main form of transport on the island.” The mom-to-be was reportedly staying at a $25,000-a-week villa with her husband, while her family — including her parents and younger sister Pippa — was also vacationing in a nearby property. The Duchess has been keeping a low profile since her pregnancy was announced last December after she was hospitalized with severe morning sickness. She is set to make her second official appearance since the baby news at a London charity on Feb. 19. St. James Palace — Middleton and William’s official residence — has yet to say if legal action will be taken against any magazine that publishes the baby bump photos. |
| Watch: Kevin Jonas Explains How Wife Danielle Inspired New JoBros Music Posted: 13 Feb 2013 11:30 AM PST The Jonas Brothers are back. Not only is the boy band set to hit the road again in February, but they will also finally drop their follow-up to 2010′s Lines, Vines and Trying Times this year. “The new album is finally done, and we are so excited,” Kevin Jonas told Celebuzz, in an exclusive interview.”We wanted to take a little extra time on it to make sure it was right and we've been working for almost a year now on it.” But longtime JoBros will find that their music has matured, as new stages in life inspire their songwriting. “I'm in a completely different place than I was when we wrote our last album three years ago,” Kevin explained, noting he’s now been married to wife Danielle Jonas for three years. “I've been through a lot, so much good. And I've learned a lot about Danielle and…I've really grown as a person, too.” “I was very excited to put that into music,” he continued. “Everything I write, there's a piece of Danielle in each part of it. Each one of the guys, as well, puts their own individual stamp on it.” Now they’re taking their new sound on the road, with a 12-date Latin and South America tour. “We're just really looking forward to seeing the fans again,” Jonas said. “The fans down there are so passionate and so exciting.” While Danielle will join the JoBros for part of the tour, the couple has mastered keeping their love alive while Kevin is away alone. “Because I travel so much, we always just look toward the day I'm coming back,” Kevin said. “It might be Monday, I'm coming back on Saturday, but Saturday is the focus.” “It's about communication,” Kevin continued. Which is why the couple has made a tradition of trading handwritten letter, sometimes as small tokens of affections and others to be mailed during periods of long-distance. “That's why we're so excited to be a part of the U.S. Postal Service's Seal With Love campaign,” he said, with Danielle adding that “it makes it known that it's coming from the heart.” For the longtime loves, mail has always be a means of sharing their romance. Danielle still cherishes a extra-special Valentine’s Day package she once received from Kevin. “He had mailed me a big box of letters, a stuffed animal and a video camera with him showing me the stage and what he was doing on tour,” she recalled. “I don't think I'll ever forget that.” But their Valentine's is “not always about the gift,” Kevin added. “We always try to do something together. For us, the tradition is writing letters to each other. That way you can collect them throughout the years.” And though they stayed mum on the details this year’s V Day plan — when they will be filming the second season of their E! reality show, Married to Jonas — the couple are planning to “get away,” Kevin said, “and spend some time, just me and her. Less than a month after his break-up, the most decorated Olympian of all time met this 22-year-old waitress just before Christmas in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where Herndon was vacationing with her family. While out dancing at a nightclub with her three sisters, she was asked to join Phelps, 27, at his table by a worker. At that time, the swimmer had just split from Rossee, a model whom he dated for less than a year. “We danced but we were just more talking,” Herndon recounted Celebuzz of their initial meeting, during a revealing and exclusive interview.”There was definitely an attraction but nothing really happened that night. Following their Bahamas vacation, during which Phelps was also filming his reality golf show The Haney Project, the nursing student said she jetted off to Baltimore for a dinner date. The date hit close to home for Phelps — literally — as Baltimore lies just south of his hometown of Towson, Md. “He invited me to go on the private jet with him to Baltimore. It was awesome,” she said of the experience. “He threw me over his shoulder as we went to go on the plane.” "He showed me around a little bit and then we went for sushi and saw the movie Zero Dark Thirty. "It was romantic, he's a great date. He's a gentleman, very polite. I'm sure he gets that from his mother — they're pretty close." Phelps also invited Herndon to watch his team the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl, but she declined because she had prior arrangements with friends. Despite their closeness and constant contact, Phelps’ gal said they’ve agreed to take things slowly. "We're both like newly single and we're still getting to know each other. It's just really casual right now,” she told us. “It was like too soon to talk about being exclusive, but we talked about how we had a great time and how we would see each other soon.” “Later on, we may become a couple but we're not going to rush into anything. The dapper actor showed off his fancy footwork as he paid a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to promote his latest film, Safe Haven. “Here’s my one concern I would have being married to Fergie—dancing. Does she make you dance? She’s a good dancer,” Jimmy Fallon pondered. “We’ve danced, but I keep the expectations low,” Duhamel replied. “We could dance if you’d like.”
Before he got to business, Duhamel waxed nostalgia, recalling a previous appearance his wife made on the talk show, which involved some hard alcohol. “I saw her when she was on your show a while back, that’s a lot to live up to,” Duhamel added, “with the shots of vodka and everything else.” Fallon then proceeded to show the audience his signature move: a backward arm motion with him saying “I’m going to the bar.” And with that said, Duhamel called on the show’s house band, The Roots, to give the comedian some musical accompaniment. “He gave us a little music, we could do it. I’m down,” Duhamel said. The actor then joined Fallon, providing viewers a few seconds filled with sexy, booty-popping moves to much of the viewers’ approval. But the fun didn’t end there. Staying in tradition of the show’s famous games, Fallon invited the actor to play “Cooler Scooters,” a race which involved the pair zipping around on motorized coolers while sipping on Budweiser from novelty beer hats. “You’re going down, dude,” Duhamel told Fallon with a laugh. And despite her hectic schedule, she still managed to get back to her fighting weight after giving birth. Her secret? Super-quick — and super-effective — workouts. “I work out four days a week, and I just do 20 minutes of cardio followed by weights,” she told Celebuzz at her jewelry launch earlier this week. “Weights, for me, is what makes a big difference in my body."
Cavallari also shared what milestones Camden has reached. "He has his two bottom teeth coming in already, which is really exciting. And he just started eating food — he loves avocados,” she said.

Posted: 12 Feb 2013 07:26 PM PST  Jack Davenport, stars as Derek Wills, the seductive director/choreographer on NBC’s Smash and promises an explosive second season for the show. "There are lots of cop shows and medical shows, but there's only one show on TV about Broadway,” Davenport t0ld Celebuzz. “And that's clearly what people come for, so why not double down on that? In many ways, we’ve done that literally, because now there are two musicals, not one. Broadly speaking, we're giving more of what people want, we hope.” So does that mean the snappy director will finally get his own time in the spotlight? "Without being too specific, some of Derek's more questionable interpersonal techniques may come back to haunt him in no uncertain terms," the actor teased. "What has been interesting is playing a character whose job it is to essentially appear invulnerable, becoming really quite vulnerable at times, so that's been kind of great." The 39-year-old actor also said that Derek is not based on any one director, explaining, "If I did, I probably wouldn’t be talking to you right now, I'd be in court!" Rather his diva antics are "possibly filched from one or two directors" that he has worked with. That would definitely not include the late Anthony Minghella who directed him in The Talented Mr. Ripley alongside Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow. "That movie does stand up, doesn’t it? It's a beautiful film to look at. Also, that film represents the only time in my life I'll be able to say, ‘I was in a film and had a bigger part than Philip Seymour Hoffman.’ It didn’t really work out for him, but that's OK," he joked. Davenport's father, Nigel, is also an actor and he says that being surrounded by thespians as a child influenced his career choice. "Both my parents did the responsible thing at the time, which was to slightly warn me off it because it's not the easiest life," he said. "It's not coal mining, but it has its moments. In truth, I was surrounded by a lot of actors as a kid. I was always beguiled by this unpatronizing, playful group of people. I just wanted to be in that tribe really. I wish I could pretend it was burning ambition, it wasn't and it still isn't. I wanted to be in that tribe and now I just want to remain a member of that tribe, that's it really." You may also recognize the actor from the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy in which he played Commodore James Norrington. "It was a lot of fun," he remembered. "It was a pretty mad ride because it sort of represents the last moment when movies were made like that. 700 of us flew to the ends of the earth for years and blew sh** up, big things, and now they do it all on computers."
