| ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Tops Weekend Box Office With $70.6M Posted: 19 May 2013 12:05 PM PDT  J.J. Abrams has another hit to his name. Star Trek Into Darkness has taken the No. 1 spot from Iron Man 3 to win the weekend box office, thanks to some $70.6 million in ticket sales. The sequel to 2009's Star Trek has grossed a domestic four-day total of $84.1 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Iron Man 3 finished its third weekend with another $35.2 million for a grand total of $337.1 million. (Marvel's got nothing to worry about though — the film recently passed the $1 billion mark in worldwide ticket sales). Meanwhile, The Great Gatsby grossed $23.4 million to sit comfortably in third place. The Baz Luhrman picture, which played in fewer theaters than the first two films, has grossed a domestic total of $90 million since opening one week ago. Pain & Gain and The Croods round out this weekend's top five, with $3.1 million and $2.75 million, respectively. |

Justin Timberlake looked ever so dapper in his suit and tie while his wife Jessica Biel glowed in a Marchesa dress from its Fall 2012 line. The 31-year-old actress finished her look with a matching pillbox clutch, snake necklace, cream pumps and a sophisticated up do. Also at the center of attention: her gorgeous engagement ring. Biel walked the carpet solo while her husband joined his fellow Inside Llewlyn Davis cast mates Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac and Garrett Hedlund. The film, directed by the Coen brothers, opens stateside Dec. 6. |

"Just a casual day at the office #MTFphotomoment," she wrote as the caption. RiRi is currently on a break from her world tour, which wrapped its North American leg in New York City May 7. The superstar is scheduled to play in Morocco on May 24, before kicking off the European leg in Spain on May 26. Rihanna is up for 10 Billboard Music Awards; the annual show will take place in Las Vegas on Sunday night. |

The 26-year-old rapper, who has a cameo in the new film, was joined by Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate, who put on their legendary Ron Burgundy and Veronica Corningstone faces. On the same day, Paramount unleashed a teaser trailer for the film, once again directed by Adam McKay. Anchorman: The Legend Continues opens in theaters Dec. 20. |
| ‘Fast & Furious 6′ Director Justin Lin on Finally Being Able to Film His Dream Scene Posted: 19 May 2013 08:04 AM PDT  Fast & Furious 6 contains a lot of things: the return of Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel's biceps, the ageless Paul Walker and the toughest of them all, Michelle Rodriguez. The film also contains director Justin Lin‘s dream scene he’s been trying to get on the big screen for what seems like forever. "I've been doing this for eight years. I have a little vault . . . the one I've been working on . . . since '09, is the plane sequence. And I knew that was going to be the culmination of everything that we've been building," Lin recently told Celebuzz's Cory Lopez. "For me it's gratifying, to finally see it come to life." With the box office success of Fast Five (it grossed $625 million worldwide, making it the most successful of the franchise), Lin is convinced the sixth installment will do just as well, if not better. "Because of Fast Five and all the momentum that the series is going through, I really do think that Fast Six . . . not only was it designed to be the culmination of this franchise, but I do think that people are really going to show up for this," he said. "That's something you can only dream of, and the fact that we're here, and all the excitement, you can feel, it's very rare and something I want to savor." Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have parted ways, a source told PEOPLE over the weekend. But before Hollywood matchmakers get to work, the same source also noted there's a good chance the Twilight stars could get back together. The couple's current relationship status comes nearly one year after Stewart, 23, made headlines with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders in cheating scandal that resulted in a public apology from the actress. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry," she said in a statement last summer. Since the incident, Stewart and Pattinson, 27, have had an on-and-off romance, though, unlike another young Hollywood on-and-off couple, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, Robsten’s remained fairly private. Save for Stewart’s public apology, the pair have never addressed their relationship. Stewart and Pattinson, who first met on the set of the first Twilight film, had been dating for more than three years. In recent months, Robsten sightings have included Coachella (with pal Katy Perry), Stewart's 23rd birthday (with Hanson) and, according to PEOPLE, a post-Met Gala outing. |

| ‘SNL’ Recap: Ben Affleck Joins Five-Timers Club, Bill Hader Bids Adieu Posted: 19 May 2013 07:43 AM PDT  Ben Affleck didn't get the Justin Timberlake treatment when the former officially joined the Five-Timers Club on the Saturday Night Live season finale, but he did take the opportunity to address his Oscars speech from earlier in the year. To clear the air on "marriage is a lot of work," the Argo director brought out wife Jennifer Garner. The adorable banter fizzled when Affleck was "caught" reading from a cue card. Most of Affleck's SNL sketches were spot on, like this one with Fred Armisen playing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad playing Affleck. But the episode also belonged to two others: Bill Hader, who performed in his last episode, and Kanye West, who performed two brand new songs. (Armisen, who’s also rumored to be leaving but has yet to officially confirm his departure, had an emotional last sketch that included friend and Portlandia co-star Carrie Brownstein and a slew of musicians). "Weekend Update with Seth Meyers" welcomed an old friend in Amy Poehler while saying farewell to another. Here's Stefon at the desk: And here's Stefon at the altar a la The Graduate. On Saturday, the 22-year-old actress stopped traffic on the red carpet as she attended the premiere of Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plain Indian) at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival. Glowing in an ensemble from Dior's Fall 2013 line, Lawrence finished off her look with gems from Chopard. Jimmy P., starring Benicio del Toro, will compete for the prestigious Palme d'Or this year. Earlier in the day, the Oscar winner joined her Hunger Games co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin at a photocall for Catching Fire. |

Turns out, some men took that to heart. “I'll admit myself because people have been getting on me about this. I didn't realize men could not use Secret deodorant,” Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges tells ReelzChanel’s Jeremy Parsons in a recent sitdown. “I've been using Secret deordorant for pretty much half my life.” Surprisingly, his Fast & Furious 6 costar, multihyphenate model-singer-actor Tyrese Gibson, does the same. But he takes his Secret use one step further — to the south. “This is too much information, but I've been using deodorant — Secret — in both locations for about seven years," he admits, pointing to his pits and, well, you know where. “You know cause your legs are just in constant rotation like your arms. I'm serious man. This is the truth. "Ah, come on," Ludacris says. "We don't need to know all that man. Ah! Tyrese Gibson uses Secret on his balls! Who does that?!" The interview then spirals into every pun that comes to mind — such as, Ludacris labeling his pal “the Secret baller!” — as the men fall into fits of laughter. Even when Parson tries to bring talk back to Fast & Furious 6, Tyrese’s one-track mind brings it back to that b-word. “How does this [movie] go to the next level?” Parsons asks. | Bill Hader ‘SNL’ Flashback: So Long, Stefon Posted: 18 May 2013 03:27 PM PDT  Tonight will be a bittersweet Saturday Night Live season finale. Bill Hader take a final bow inside Studio 8H as one of its regular cast members after eight hilarious seasons. Over the years, he's made his mark with characters like senile reporter Herb Welch, Italian talk-show host Vinny Vedecci, Dwayne the brother from the kissing family and one of the dudes from "The Californians" soap. Hader's also taken on impersonations of Julian Assange, Clint Eastwood, James Carville and Alan Alda. But perhaps the character viewers will miss the most is Stefon Zolesky, the city guide who's never missed a beat and has almost always cracked on "Weekend Update with Seth Meyers." Whether it's a coincidence or a planned move, cheers to NBC for having Ben Affleck as host of the season 38 finale. Stefon first appeared on SNL some five years ago, in a season 34 episode hosted by Affleck. The pair play brothers with a movie pitch, and Stefon’s debut is well, pure Stefon: longwinded sentences, interesting descriptions and words ("adult baby fantasy shots of diaper people," "ripped midgets," "sunburned jacked old man") and a knack for making his co-stars break. For those longing for more Stefon after SNL, here's hoping Hader will return as a host (like Kristen Wiig last week). "Sometimes people say to me 'I want a Stefon movie' and I'm like, 'You think you want a Stefon movie but then you'll see the poster for it and think: 'Wait, I don't want this,'" he told GQ in its annual comedy issue. |

On Friday night, Belvedere vodka played host to its sixth annual Cannes Film Festival bash at the JW Marriot. Among the famous in attendance: Liam Hemsworth, Solange Knowles, Reverend Run and Anha O'Reilly. Earlier in the week, Knowles took to Twitter to talk about a near-wardrobe malfunction from a party she performed at. "Just performed at a party in Cannes in an outfit that required more double stick tape than a duct tape dress. NEVER AGAIN," she wrote. Meanwhile, Hemsworth has had a busy Cannes weekend: on Saturday, the Australian actor attended a photocall with Jennifer Lawrence for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. | ‘Anchorman 2’ Teaser Trailer: You Stay Classy Posted: 18 May 2013 11:57 AM PDT  Paramount has unveiled the newest trailer for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Since the start of production, director Adam McKay and producer Judd Apatow have remained mum on the movie's plot. So no, the new teaser does not have any clips from the film. For now, fans can enjoy the precious 60-plus seconds of Ron Burgundy and company being compared to the "great ones" (Jesus, Jay-Z) and how they always return with perfect hair. Anchorman 2, starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, David Koechner, opens nationwide Dec. 20. You haven't changed a bit either, Burgundy. |
