Which Song From ‘The Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack Are You Most Eager to Hear?

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 12:17 PM PDT

Celebuzz is excited for Baz Luhrmann‘s The Great Gatsby, but we may be more excited to hear the soundtrack than we are to see the film.

The soundtrack features all-new music from the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Florence + The Machine, and Fergie. You can hear a sample of (most of) the album above. Sounds ah-may-zing, don’t you think?

We want to know which song you are most excited to hear. So after you’ve listened to the sampler, vote in our poll. (Please note that, unfortunately and for some unknown reason, the Beyoncé and Jay-Z tracks are not featured in the sampler. You can still vote for them, though!)

You can vote for up to three songs below.

Incredible Stories From The Boston Marathon Bombing

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:23 AM PDT

Boston Marathon Day After

Dr. Vivek Shah was only yards away from the finish line when the first bomb detonated like a cannon.

Overcoming severe exhaustion, the brave surgeon raced over to help the badly injured victims, all the while not knowing if his wife, baby daughter and parents were among them.

"I kept looking at the victims faces thinking that I might see my own family," he told Celebuzz.

(Photo: Facebook)

Dr. Shah's wife, Jennifer, went to cheer her husband on along with their 16-month old-baby daughter, Savannah, and his parents while he competed in his fifth Boston marathon.

Fortunately, they had found seating just down from the explosion and were not directly hit by the blast.

"Normally, when I finish a marathon I am exhausted, but my energy levels kicked-in as I raced over to help people," he added.

"Some of the injuries were horrific and we used tourniquets to help people from losing blood, but as I treated people I kept thinking about my own family.

"As more medics arrived to help I got up and started to look for my family and within a few minutes I found them and miraculously they were all fine."

(Photo: Facebook)

Dr. Shah, who lives in Boston, returned to work today at New England Baptist Hospital.

But he posted a message on his Facebook to reassure his family and friends following the explosion.

It reads: “Dear family and friends, we are all ok. We were right there but we are all ok. Thanks for your love and support.”

The heroic physician admits that he’s still processing what happened to him, but is now determined to run the race once again next year to defy the terrorists.

Another courageous witness to the tragic events of the day was sixth grade special education teacher Anne George, who was watching the marathon with friends from the packed streets, filled with families and children out to celebrate Patriot's Day.

She spoke with Celebuzz about her experience April 15, 2013 — a day she, like the rest of America, will forever be seared in our memories and history books.

“I was around the finish line waiting for a friend.

"She was headed right where the first explosion took place. When the explosion went off I tried to get in touch with her and I couldn't.

(Photo: Anne George, far right)

"I didn't know if between our last conversation she went somewhere and why she wouldn't be there.

"I kept telling my friends 'I'm fine, but call Danielle.'

"A friend of mine had been in the bleachers. He's fine, but he saw people who lost their limbs. Fortunately, I didn't because I would never be able to get that image out of my head.

(Photo: Anne George)

"When I couldn't find my friend I actually looked for her in one of the tent and my friends pulled me away. They didn't want me to see the sights of those injuries.

"At that time, I just saw a lot of people being taken away in gurneys. There were kids crying and people running for their safety. All I could think was the bombs went off and I'm running away.

(Photo: Anne George)

"I ended up finding her [my friend], thankfully. Her phone had died and they were going to get something to eat when the first explosion happened. And she was not injured, fortunately.

"My [other] friend actually got separated from her husband. She wanted to look for him, but I kept telling her we had a meeting place where we told everyone we'd meet them at in case we got lost. So I kept telling her 'he's going to look for you there.'

"And I have never seen two people run to each other like that before. It was like a scene out of a movie.

"I'm a sixth grade special education teacher and I'm horrified that the world I was in as a child is very different today as an adult."

‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Recap: Vicki and Tamra’s Newfound Truce Is Tested

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:48 AM PDT

Vicki-Gunvalson-Tamra-Barney-Dinner-RHOOC-

Just when it seemed Vicki Gunlavson and Tamra Barney were on the road to reconciliation, the two hit a speed bump. Last week on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki and Tamra buried the hatchet and decided to resume their friendship at Heather Dubrow's clambake. Would the women live up to their truce?

Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched Monday’s episode: “Making Up Is Really Hard To Do.”

What is with Vicki these days? You would think after wanting her relationship with Tamra repaired, she would be walking on eggshells. Well, the insurance guru seemed to have other opinions on how to keep her friendships intact.

Vicki met up with Tamra for lunch, and proceeded to blame her for the way their relationship ended. According to Vicki, it was all because Tamra dared to voice her opinions about her ex-boyfriend Brooks. Isn't that what a friend is supposed to do, though?

Aren't these ladies always harping on people, "not being real?" Why should Vicki get bent out of shape when Tamra was only being authentic in her doubts surrounding Brooks? It's high time Vicki let the past stay exactly where it is, in the past, if she wants her fragile friendship with Tamra to grow. While Vicki started to understand where Tamra was coming from, she nearly derailed the entire rebuilding process when she asked if she could invite Alexis Bellinoto Tamra's party!

Why, Vicki, WHY?!

On the other side of the OC, viewers met new housewife Lydia McLaughlin. She attempted to feature Heather's home in her magazine, Beverly Hills Lifestyle. Heather is all for the idea, until she and her husband decide they must be on the cover. The ladies seemed to hit it off pretty well until Heather discovered Lydia's friendly with Alexis! Ruh oh… Ms. McLaughlin may have just painted a big bullseye on her back with that revelation.

After Lydia discussed Heather's demands, the magazine spread was nixed. Apparently, since their magazine only showcased well known celebrity names, Heather and her husband simply didn't make the cut. Talk about a huge reality check.

Buzz Moments

OMG!: Tamra allowing Vicki to invite Alexis to her fitness studio party. Either Tamra’s really showing she’s the bigger person, or is about to tear Alexis a new one.

Thank you, TV gods.: Briana busting Vicki on not cutting off Brooks completely.

Awk-ward: Tamra telling Gretchen Rossi she doesn’t thinks her pal’s ready to be a mother since Gretchen’s too concerned about herself. Can anyone else feel that chill?

Hotness: Lydia’s husband, Doug. Can we say handsome?

Fab-u-lous: Heather’s house. That thing is so huge, bet she wouldn’t notice if someone (me) lived there for a month.

Can. Not. Wait.: Dying for Tamra’s dinner party next week. All the ladies under one roof equals an epic fight.

Celebuzz Meter (1-10): 7

Will Vicki and Tamra’s friendship end before it starts? Sound off below!

Quvenzhané Wallis Had A Dance-Off After The MTV Movie Awards

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:29 AM PDT

Apparently, nine-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis fell into a dance-off with a fellow youngster Sunday night an after-party for the MTV Movie Awards. That’s pretty much all that needs to be said about this video.

But just in case you need further enticing: It also contains cartwheels, spinning around and moves that this 27-year-older will never be able to pull off.

Suffice to say, Quvenzhané won — even without her cat purse.

Incredible: Joe Andruzzi Displays Heroic Act Of Kindness After Boston Marathon Explosions

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:54 AM PDT

It’s the photo everyone is talking about today — and for good reason.

Joe Andruzzi, a former offensive lineman for the New England Patriots, was photographed carrying a woman to safety on Monday after two bombs were set off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Andruzzi was at the Marathon to raise money for his foundation, which assists cancer patients. He later released a statement, saying:

Marathon Monday should be about uplifting stories, personal challenges and fundraising milestones, but today’s bombings irrevocably changed that. While I appreciate the interest in hearing our perspective on today’s horrific events, the spotlight should remain firmly on the countless individuals — first responders, medics, EMTs, runners who crossed the finish line and kept on running straight to give blood, and the countless civilians who did whatever they could to save lives. They were the true heroes. Our thoughts prayers go out to all those affected by this senseless tragedy.

See this incredible act of generosity in the photo, above.

Which Pop Queen Had The Best Debut Album?

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 10:32 AM PDT

The debut album is often the most important release of a musician’s career. It is an artist’s introduction to the world, and its success can guarantee a legion of lifelong fans.

Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears all released phenomenally successful debut albums. Each album has been certified multi-platinum and contains at least one #1 single. Not bad for your first time out, ladies. (For simplicity’s sake, we’ll ignore the fact that Beyoncé had been recording with Destiny’s Child for more than seven years by the time she released her first solo album. Ahem.)

Celebuzz wants you to tell us which album you like the most. Cast your vote below.

We know it might be tough to make a decision, so here is some information about each album that may help you make up your mind:

— Beyoncé’s Dangerously In Love was released in 2003 and features the hits “Crazy in Love,” “Baby Boy,” “Me, Myself, and I,” and “Naughty Girl.” The album earned Beyoncé five Grammy Awards. It has sold more than 11 million copies worldwide.

— Lady Gaga’s The Fame was released in 2008 and features the hits “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “LoveGame,” and “Paparazzi.” Gaga re-released the album in 2009 and included a new 8-song EP titled The Fame Monster. The re-release features “Bad Romance,” “Telephone,” and “Alejandro.” The combined sales of both editions exceeds 15 million copies worldwide.

— Britney Spears’ … Baby One More Time was released in 1999 and features the hits “… Baby One More Time,” “Sometimes,” “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” and “Born to Make You Happy.” It is one of the top 25 best-selling releases of all time with more than 30 million copies sold worldwide.

So, what do you say, Celebuzzers? Who released the best debut album? Feel free to tell us about your choice by leaving a comment.

Alison Brie Does Her Best Meme Impressions

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 09:07 AM PDT

Although she’s best known for her roles on fan-favorite shows Mad Men and Community, Alison Brie has also become an Internet star in her own right.

Well, today, the brunette half of the Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs Pin-Up Special is back online — and she’s taking on some other Internet superstars in the process.

Interviewed by Paul F. Tompkins, Brie does her best to impersonate several popular memes, like Grumpy Cat and the Ermahgerd girl. She manages to pull off an impressive Grumpy Cat, though her Unflattering Beyoncé could use some work.

The highlight of the video is, however, when Brie and Tompkins team up to take on the complex Hadoken pose, in which Brie risks her life, limb and coccyx for her art.

In a separate video, Tompkins implores Brie, a popular subject of GIFs, to create some less-than-flattering poses for the Internet to take advantage of.

Well, Alison, you asked for it:

Bradley Cooper Has Been Living With His Mom For Two Years

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:54 AM PDT

In a rather poignant interview, Hangover star Bradley Cooper tells Details he’s been living with his mother Gloria since his father passed away from cancer in January 2011.

“Let’s face it: It’s probably not easy for her, by the way, to be living with her son. It’s life. And right now, two years after my father’s death, this is where we are,” he says. “My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are.”

He continues:

“But don’t get me wrong. It’s not without complications. It’s not like I live in a compound and she’s in the guesthouse. No. She’s in the next room. But here’s the thing: She’s a cool chick. We can hang, and she can roll with the punches. If that wasn’t the case, there’s no way.”

Cooper — who is dating 20-year-old model Suki Waterhouse — goes on to say his father’s death put his own life into perspective (“I just don’t sweat the sh-t. The small stuff. My mind is just less busy now.”) and got him thinking about starting a family of his own.

“I really hope I have that experience in my life,” he said. “I saw how much joy fatherhood gave my own dad. So I hope it’s part of my journey. You go through stages in your life, and fatherhood seems like a natural stage.”

Cooper brought his mother to the Oscars in February. He was nominated for his performance in Silver Linings Playbook.

Robert Downey Jr. Will Win An Oscar One Day, Says Robert Downey Jr.

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:54 AM PDT

Sometimes you’ll hear a celebrity say they’re going to win an Oscar one day and you’ll laugh because the chances of that actually happening are — well, it’s just not going to happen.

But then you hear it from a guy like Robert Downey Jr. and the whole thing actually makes a bit of sense.

The Iron Man 3 star rationalized his prediction in an honest, if slightly cocky, cover story for GQ, telling the mag he’d be “shocked” if he didn’t have “at least one” Oscar by the time his career was all said and done.

“I'm young enough, and I'm running down being occupied with these kind of genre movies, close enough. Even the next thing we're doing with [my wife], I'm so confident about it. It's the best script the studio has; it's the best thing I've read in years,” he said.

If his prediction comes true, though, it won’t mean all that much to him:

You know, honestly, my real answer to that is: I don't care. I used to think I cared, and I couldn't care less. Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't get a little choked up, but it is amazing to see how people are literally hyperventilating when they get up there, because they have such an attachment to this outcome. I mean, it's not like we're at the f–king Olympics or something. … Look, even if I don't get one directly, eventually they're just going to have to give me one when I get old. So no matter how you slice it, I'm getting one.

Other choice quotes from the interview: He says he’s the one of the best working actors in the business today.

“I'm probably one of the best. …But it's not that big a deal. It's not like this is the greatest swath or generation of actors that has ever come down the pike.”

And those rumors about him making $50 million off of The Avengers? Yep — they were true.

“Isn’t that crazy? They’re so pissed. I can’t believe it. I’m what’s known as ‘a strategic cost.’”

Uh, yeah.

Here’s Your First Look At Electro In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 07:12 AM PDT

No, that’s not an aging member of The Blue Man Group. It’s actually Jamie Foxx shooting scenes for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Monday night in Times Square.

Foxx plays the villainous Electro in the movie, out Summer 2014. Fans of the comic will know him better as Maxwell Dillon, who was given the ability to control electricity after he was struck by lightning while working on a power line.

The look Foxx is sporting is understandably creepy — and certainly on par with the way he described it to BlackFilm.com last December. He also kind of looks like he was put together by the makeup team from White Chicks, which may or may not be a good thing.

Read Patton Oswalt’s Inspirational Response to the Boston Marathon Bombing

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 08:09 AM PDT

As the injury count in Boston continues to rise — latest reports say more than 150 people were injured when two bombs were detonated at the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon — many questions remain unanswered. Like who was responsible for such an act and why; though some people already have a pretty good (and very misguided) idea.

In the middle of such tragedy, it’s easy to see the bad. But comedian Patton Oswalt reminds us all it’s important to remember the good in people at times like this. He penned an inspiring message on Facebook that’s been shared thousands of times over across social media urging us all to “just look [violence, bigotry, or intolerance] in the eye and think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will.’”

Oswalt’s message has been, as of this writing shared more than 188,000 times on Facebook. Read it in full here:

Boston. F**king horrible.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, “Well, I’ve had it with humanity.”

But I was wrong. I don’t know what’s going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here’s what I DO know. If it’s one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we’re lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they’re pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, “The good outnumber you, and we always will.”

Beyonce Kicks Off Mrs. Carter Show With Quite The Outfit

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:54 AM PDT

Keeping in tune with the increasingly bizarre year she’s had, Beyonce Knowles kicked off her Mrs. Carter Show world tour Monday night in Belgrade, Serbia, with a wardrobe change that must be seen to be believed.

The 31-year-old singer, who continues to tease us with snippets of new songs she may never release, at one point donned a gold sequined leotard of sorts that highlighted the fact that she is, you know, a woman. (See above to understand what I’m talking about.)

It was a bold move for sure, from an artist who is known to take risks in the fashion department. Unfortunately, this one had her looking less sexy and more like Joan Rivers from Spaceballs.

Which, if you think about it, is kind of awesome in itself.

Knowles’ tour continues this week with stops in Croatia and Slovakia.

Live Like Matt Damon For $20 Million

Posted: 15 Apr 2013 06:20 PM PDT

Now this is “Elysium.”

Matt Damon has placed his seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms mega-mansion on the real estate market for a whopping $20 million.

Located in Miami, the 12,700 square foot estate is situated on two contiguous lots overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Listing details reveal that the abode also features a custom-fitted den, a home theater, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and a roomy kitchen equipped with high-end stainless steel appliances and furnished marble counter tops and back splashes.

But this is just one of the many properties the Oscar winner owns.

Last September, Damon, 42, splashed out $15 million for another lavish pad located in California’s upscale Pacific Palisades neighborhood.

The home, which boasts six bedrooms and eight baths, also happens to be a few doors down from childhood pal Ben Affleck‘s multi-million digs.

Got money to spare? Take a tour of this celebrity home in the gallery above.

Watch: Amanda Bynes Sucks On A Sour Patch Kid. Dances. All At The Same Time.

Posted: 15 Apr 2013 07:47 PM PDT

Amanda-Bynes-sour-face

It just keeps getting better… or worse.

That's right, we mean Amanda Bynes‘ continued bizarre behavior.

The 27-year-old former child star who's not only told the world about her eating disorder and broken relationship with her parents via Twitter, has taken her daily diatribes to a whole new level by posting a video of herself dancing in front of the mirror… wait for it… all while munching on a Sour Patch Kid.

Yes, you heard that right. Bynes sucks on a Sour Patch Kid. Listens to music. And gets ready for a night out.

But one thing you'll notice is that Bynes surprisingly still has all of her hair (and all that makeup). Last week she took to social media to say she shaved it all off after an unfortunate incident at the salon. But have no fear, she's back with her larger than life hair extensions (and even bigger eyebrows this time around).

Oh, and as a bonus she sends a couple special shout-out selfies to her beloved followers.

Check out Bynes’ blonde ambition for yourself in the video above.

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Celebs Go Toe-To-Toe With The Pros

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 12:12 AM PDT

Monday's episode of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars saw a few changes from the regular run of show. Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke Charvet took time out to pay respects to victims of Boston bombings before getting started with the competition.

Thanks to a bright idea from Len Goodman, the couples were assigned to dance head to head against a professional couple. Umm…why? This all seemed a bit ambitious to me. However, one immediate upside was the return of professional dancer Maskim Chmerkovskiy, who has been sitting out this season.

Boston native Aly Raisman took another impressive turn on the dance floor with partner, Mark Ballas. The pair danced the samba and did a great job next to the dueling professionals beside them. "Your technique is very, very strong and what you do now, you have a lovely effortless carefree attitude," said Bruno Tonioli.

Victor Ortiz was battling a broken heart along with the Viennese waltz this week. After finding out that his girlfriend had been cheating on him, the boxer took out his frustrations on the dance floor — and did a fairly good job with his performance, according to the judges. "Victor, I say that was a victory. I think you channeled your emotions well," said Carrie Ann Inaba.

Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough gave a good performance of the fox trot, earning one of the highest scores of the night with 27 points. As usual, I was a little bored by the American Idol alum, but at least she'sdefinitely staying consistent this season.

D.L. Hughely had another disappointing dance under his belt after his attempt at the tango with partner Cheryl Burke. Their clunky-looking dance paled in comparison to the professional pair they went up against, earning another low score of 18 points.

As expected, Zendaya stole the show again, warning the first "10's" of the season with the Argentine tango with pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy. "It was like a lemon tart," Len gushed of the dance. "Sharp and tangy at the top, crisp and tasty down below … it was a gem of a dance. Well done!" The audience also seemed to agree with the critique as they gave the pair a standing ovation. The judges gave the seaosn's highest score of 29.

Funnyman Andy Dick took a Zorro-themed approach to his paso doble with partner Sharna Burgess. Although his zip-lined entrance was pretty snazzy, the rest of the dance looked like more of a joke than a serious attempt. fact that a pair of pros were doing the exact same moves didn't help his case at all. Len wasn't feeling it.

“It wasn't quite Hollywood; it's nearby. It was more Pasadena than paso doble, but it was, as always, it's great fun and I enjoyed watching you." Bruno tried to let him down gently before spilling the bad news. "It was like the attack of the killer cape."

Even though Andy is one of my favorite celebrity contenders, this dance might have just sealed his spot on tomorrow's chopping block.

Who do you think should go home Tuesday?

Ozzy Osbourne Addresses Split Rumors

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:55 AM PDT

A few hours ago, Ozzy Osbourne took to his Facebook page to put to rest the gossip surrounding his 31-year marriage to Sharon Osbourne.

For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs. I was in a very dark place and was an asshole to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober.

Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person.

I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period………and my fans.

God Bless,

Ozzy

Over the weekend, photos of moving vans in front of their home combined with sightings of Sharon at the Beverly Hills Hotel have prompted media outlets and fans alike to speculate over the state of their union.

TMZ reported earlier that the two had split, though stated that they have no plans to divorce as of now.

The response to Osbourne’s admission has been mostly positive.  Facebook user Julie Ann Zedis-Ford wrote, “Had no idea you were battling the demons again. Stay strong man!! We are all pulling for you….you have made it through so many things thanks to your beautiful family, friends and fans. We love you Oz…”

Another user, Dakota Gauthier wrote, “Takes a man to admit his mistakes, and an even bigger man to look at them and change it all. Kudos to you Ozzy, proud to be a long time fan.”

“Look For The Helpers”

Posted: 16 Apr 2013 11:55 AM PDT

Boston Massachusetts Skyline

When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother's words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.
