Beyoncé Honors Trayvon Martin During Concert After Learning ‘Not Guilty’ Zimmerman Verdict

Posted: 14 Jul 2013 11:08 AM PDT

Beyonce Trayvon Martin I Will Always Love You

Sometimes it’s hard to separate myself from the world of popular culture and take a look at what’s happening around the world. That makes me a little sad, but it’s the truth.

Thankfully it’s 2013 and the celebrities we love to worship are often times just as open to talk politics as they are to sign an autograph. I’m looking at you Beyoncé.

Last night, upon hearing that George Zimmerman had been found not guilty of murdering 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, Queen B stopped her concert in Nashville and took a moment of silence before singing the Whitney Houston / Dolly Parton hit I Will Always Love You and then her own, gut-wrenching, Halo.

Although the mash-up is a normal part of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, it had a much different effect on the audience last night.

Check it out in the video above.

Cory Monteith’s Family Will Remember Him As ‘A Beautiful Young Man’

Posted: 14 Jul 2013 12:45 PM PDT

The PaleyFest Icon Award

31-year-old Glee star Cory Monteith passed away yesterday in Vancouver, stunning both fans and loved ones.

Members of Monteith’s family were contacted after Vancouver police confirmed he was dead during a press conference.  Monteith had missed his noon checkout time, so a staff member was sent up to his room.

Monteith’s stepmom, Yvette, who hadn’t seen the actor in a couple years when he visited his father Joe in New Brunswick, remembers the legacy he leaves behind.

“He was a beautiful young man. He was loved by everybody,” Yvette told Celebuzz. “He was very talented and put himself in the spotlight because that’s where he always wanted to be and that is what he was always interested in. He made everybody smile. That was Cory.”

Countdown to Emmys: A Quick Chat About Best Actress in a Drama Series

Posted: 12 Jul 2013 11:49 AM PDT

For the next seven days, Celebuzz editors Andy Scott and Robert Kessler will be analyzing the contenders for this years Emmy nominations, announcing July 18 at 8:30AM. Today’s discussion: Best Actress in a Drama Series, in which we analyze everyone who will inevitably lose to Claire Danes.

Andy Scott: So, now we’re at Best Actress in a Drama Series. I’m gonna go ahead and say that Claire Danes (Homeland) will win again so we can all move on to everyone she’ll beat. She’s definitely going to beat Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife) and Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men). For sure.

RK: One person who will not win but I think should is Connie Britton (Nashville).

AS: Tell me more.

RK: Nashville never really reached the level of zeitgeist that Revenge did in its first season or Scandal this season, and I never understood why. It’s a GREAT show.

AS: Well, they do like her, obviously. Enough for a nomination, though?

RK: I’ll respond to that in GIF.

AS: I’m sorry. I’m glad you brought up Scandal, though, because Kerry Washington has to be nominated. She just has to be.

RK: I can’t really see this shaking out without Kerry Washington getting a nomination.

AS: She’s so good on that show. She’s always good. It’s time for people to finally take notice. I think they will. And then she’ll lose to Claire Danes.

RK: I was a little surprised to see that Glenn Close (Damages) is eligible? I feel like that show ended forever and a half ago.

AS: She’ll be submitting herself for years to come. Didn’t you see Albert Nobbs? That woman is desperate to win anything.

RK: Well she did win for Damages already. And Damages was so, so good. But she won’t be nominated. I just wanted to state, for the record, that Damages was a fantastic television show. Got it? Good. Moving on.

RK: Another person who won’t be nominated is Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel). See here.

AS: If there was a category for “A for Effort” … Well, she’d lose to Claire Danes. But hey! She’d at least show up!

RK: Yeah, I don’t think Vera Farmiga ever wiped herself on screen in Bates Motel. Game, set, match: Danes!

AS: There’s still time. Let’s talk about happier things: like Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey).

RK: Yes, very happy character arc for that girl this season. Just, real happy go lucky. Nothing going wrong for Lady Mary.

AS: She’s my favorite person on Downton Abbey. I don’t even know why, but she is. Like if she were to win the Emmy this year (she won’t), I would be really, really happy for her without actually knowing why.

RK: I have a very similar feeling about Parker Posey.

AS: Wait. Can we talk about Keri Russell (The Americans) for a second?

RK: I was going to suggest we do that.

AS: If she gets nominated I’m just going to pretend it’s for Felicity. Which is why she needs to get nominated, even though I didn’t actually watch The Americans.

RK: I also did not watch The Americans. But I think people liked it?

AS: I think so too. It would make me happy. (I’m still trying to move on from Claire Danes.)

RK: The person I would like to see win is Elisabeth Moss.

AS: Me too. But she won’t. Maybe she’ll win for Top of the Lake? She was equally good in that.

RK: Top of the Lake was so good. So good. Peggy Olsen’s character arc this season was a really interesting one to watch. And I love the idea of watching this sort of slow shattering of the glass ceiling through one fictional character’s eyes.

AS: Well, it seems they set her up for a good final season. Maybe she’ll finally win then, like Jon Hamm? Although who knows what Claire Danes will do next season? How do you top trying to kill yourself while wearing your favorite going out top?

RK: Elisabeth Moss deserves something, if for no other reason than that she broke twitter with a single dress. Maybe a Webby. Do they still do those?

AS: Probably. Can we end this discussion by saying Julianna Margulies? Her name carries so much gravitas.

RK: One thing I wanted to say was that I did not know Aria was the lead on Pretty Little Liars. Did you know that?

AS: I don’t even know what that means.

RK: Lucy Hale is in for lead actress. Which, lol.

AS: Is she “A”?

RK: I don’t know. No one knows. WHO IS A? Are you A?

AS: Julianna Margulies is A.

FINAL PREDICTIONS (Winner in Bold)

Andy Scott
Claire Danes, Homeland
Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey
Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men
Keri Russell, The Americans
Kerry Washington, Scandal

Robert Kessler
Connie Britton, Nashville
Claire Danes, Homeland
Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey
Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men
Kerry Washington, Scandal

33 Celebrities In The Buff For International Nude Day

Posted: 14 Jul 2013 10:17 AM PDT

Hollywood is stripping down.

Whether it’s a TV starlet or an A-list actress, celebrities are all taking it off and baring their bods. Jennifer Lopez did it for a perfume ad, while Khloe Kardashian slipped into her birthday suit to make a statement about wearing fur.

In fact, Allure even dedicated an issue of their magazine to stars posing naked!

Seeing how skin is in, it’s no wonder that there’s an entire international holiday celebrating nudity.

Here’s to all the famous faces — or should we say, bodies — who are brave enough to get nude in front of the camera.

Injured And Fabulous, Mariah Carey Wears Not One, But Three Different Designer Arm Slings

Mariah Carey Injured Arm Sling Bling

Because Mariah Carey can’t be wearing less than her weight in gold ever, she performed last night wearing three different, and entirely blinged out, slings. Believe me, there isn’t a better word to describe them.

In case you’re wondering, Mimi dislocated her shoulder last week while filming a new  music video. It’s a hard life, I’m telling you.

Last night though, she was performing alongside the New York Philharmonic for the 2013 Major League Baseball All-Star Charity Concert. The event helped to raise money for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Leave it to Mariah to turn an injury into a fashion statement.

Jimmy Kimmel Married Molly McNearney And Hollywood’s A-List Saw It Happen

Posted: 14 Jul 2013 09:20 AM PDT

Jimmy Kimmel Molly McNearney Wedding

Let’s put this in the category of things that will make you smile today. Because, let’s face it, we’re all in desperate need of some uplifting news.

Jimmy Kimmel was married Molly McNearney yesterday in Ojai, California, and the guest list would’ve made you think it was a major red carpet event in Hollywood.

Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Aniston, Kristen Bell, and Ellen Degeneres were all in the crowd, just to name a few. And yes, Jimmy even saved a seat and some time for Matt Damon.

McNearney, who is the co-head writer on Kimmel’s late-night talk show, looked gorgeous in a simple white gown with lace. Jimmy didn’t look half bad either, in a classic black tuxedo.

It was the second marriage for Jimmy, 41 and the first for Molly, 35. And we’re hearing that guests were asked to make charitable donations instead of bringing wedding gifts.

Check out the gallery above to see all of the a-listers in attendance and for some pretty goofy shots of the bride and groom just enjoying each other’s company.

Congratulations to you both!

The Jerudong Polo Trophy

Prince William appeared “relaxed” and on his game today during the Jerudong Trophy, a charity polo match held in aid of Child Bereavement UK, Centrepoint and WellChild.  The Duke of Cambridge played alongside his younger brother, Prince Harry.

Daily Express royal reporter Richard Palmer was at the match, noting on Twitter that there was “no sign of a helicopter,” and that the Duke didn’t think his wife would be going into labor today.

William and Harry also played in a match yesterday for Tusk Trust and Sentebale on the estate of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

We weren’t expecting William to be here, it was a lovely surprise,” Tusk’s chief executive Charlie Mayhew told People‘s Simon Perry.  ”He was on really good form.”

The Sunday Express reports that the Duchess of Cambridge left Kensington Palace Friday night to spend the weekend at her parents Bucklebury home.

"Being back at home in Bucklebury is the one place where Kate can truly relax, especially with all the building work going on at Kensington Palace,” a royal source told the paper.  ”She knows her mum will take good care of her and William can also rest assured that she's in safe hands.

"Kate is very family orientated so it is only natural that she would want to spend as much time as possible with her parents before the baby arrives."

William has ended his current shift with the RAF ahead of the baby’s arrival. He will take two weeks paternity leave, then return to duty.

Pretty Little Liar Shay Mitchell looked summer-y and breathtaking in her beautiful pale yellow butterfly dress. Looks like her long holiday in Hawaii paid off?

Maybe it’s just me, but the fact that Britney Spears has two adorable sons always slips my mind! Jayden James and Sean Preston posed with their mom this weekend at the launch party for Ooh La La, the song Brit Brit recorded for Smurfs 2. Earlier in the week, she commented on a still from the video, saying, “Omg. How CUTE are my boys?!” They’re cute Britney, 100%.

‘Glee’ Co-Stars React In Disbelief To Cory Monteith’s Death

Glee Stars React to Cory Monteith's Death

Glee co-stars have already started to take to Twitter to express their shock and sorrow over the sudden death of their beloved castmate, Cory Monteith.

Iqbal Theba, who plays Principal Figgins on the hit Fox series, couldn’t hold back his initial emotions via social media.

Over an hour ago, Puck’s Mark Salling only had one word.

Former glee club member Kristin Chenoweth expressed her love.

Dot-Marie Jones, who portrays Coach Shannon Beiste, said her heart is broken after news of the 31-year-old’s tragic passing.

Cheyenne Jackson, who portrayed Dustin Goolsby on Glee, remembers the young star as a “gentleman.”

Damian McGinty, who won a 7-episode arc on Glee in season one of The Glee Project, shared his first foray into acting with Monteith.

Josh Sussman, who plays Jacob, remembers Monteith as a “great guy.”

DJ ‘Shangela’ Pierce made a guest appearance on the Fox comedy when she met the TV heartthrob:

Others like Alex Anders, who worked closely with the star as the vocal producer and recording engineer on Glee, also wanted to say some final words to their friend.

Monteith, who battled substance addiction and recently completed rehab program in April, was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room Saturday afternoon.

According to Vancouver Police, staff at the Fairmont Pacific Rim discovered his body when he missed his checkout time after a week-long stay.

Police said the actor was with other people in his room last night, but believe he was alone when he passed away according to video and key entries that indicate that he was by himself in the early morning hours.

"We know there will be considerable interest in this case, and we have detectives assigned to the case who attended with our Forensic Identification Unit to examine the scene, to ensure to the extent possible that there are no unanswered questions," Acting Chief Doug LePard said in a press release.

"Hotel video has been secured as well as room access records. Our investigators have spoken with hotel staff, who are providing the utmost in cooperation."

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, according to police. At this time VPD says there is no indication there was foul play involved.

The chief himself couldn't help but offer his own words of grief: "On behalf of the Vancouver Police, I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith,” he said. “As was the case in countless homes, I watched Glee regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death."

FOX All-Star Party - Arrivals

It’s breaking my heart to write about this, as it seems to be some sort of haze-filled nightmare. And I’m not the only one.

Although that may be how a lot of people are feeling, it’s true. 31-year-old Glee star Corey Monteith was found dead early Saturday afternoon in a Vancouver, Canada hotel room.

Halle Berry Seems To Have Married Olivier Martinez In France

The wedding of Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez at Chateau des Conde in Vallery

Did she or didn’t she? That’s the million dollar question right now, as it seems that Halle Berry has finally married Olivier Martinez in France.

Several images taken at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France appear to be what most would assume is a wedding ceremony.

Halle can be seen wearing what we’re assuming is a wedding dress while she waits outside the Chateau in a white vehicle. Believe what you will, but we’re calling it now.

Berry, 46, and Martinez, 47, have been together since 2010 and are expecting their first child, a boy, in the fall.

Our congratulations go out to you both!

Adam Lambert Doesn’t Want To Be An 80′s Cover Artist, So He’s Leaving His Record Label (Report)

Posted: 13 Jul 2013 03:21 PM PDT

Adam Lambert RCA Split

It’s been one hell of a year for Adam Lambert.

Last summer the 31-year-old became the first openly gay recording artist to debut a record at number one on the Billboard 200 Chart, sang onstage with Queen, and, just this week, it was announced that he had landed a guest starring role on the upcoming season of Glee.

Today though, the American Idol alum announced a plan to walk away from his record label and it’s all because of an 80′s cover album. An 80′s cover album that neither he nor his fans wanted.

In a letter sent to The Hollywood Reporter yesterday, Lambert says that although he had a great number of years working at RCA, they ultimately came to a point where their creative differences became too much to bear.

Because he’s so well spoken, you can read his entire statement below:

Thank you for your continued interest in, and support of, my musical career. After reading your article on July 8th, and seeing the very impassioned responses, I thought it would be good to write and let you know what is actually happening with my next album.

I’ve had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA; I admire all of them a great deal, and truly appreciate the energy & enthusiasm that went into making both “Trespassing” & “For Your Entertainment” successes.

That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited “creative differences” as to what my next project will be. Your article was correct, the label is “pushing for an (80′s) covers album,” and feels that this is the only kind of release they are prepared to support. While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album.

Over the past four years, I have been truly fortunate to work with an amazing roster of producers, writers and engineers. Thanks to them, I have grown as both a songwriter and a vocalist. Artistically & professionally, I think it is essential that I continue with this evolution. I am already deep into writing new material with some very talented colleagues for a brand new album, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this new sound & direction. This music is where my heart is, and I believe that is what my fans want to hear. So after careful consideration, I have made the decision to respectfully part ways with RCA. My passion for the music & respect for the fans will always come first. I am excited to find a new label team who shares this vision.

Yours,

Adam

Matthew McConaughey & Scarlett Johansson Spotted In Some Serious Designer Duds In NYC

Matthew McConaughey Scarlett Johansson Martin Scorsese Dlce and Gabbana NYC

Holy hot people, Batman!

Two of Hollywood’s sexiest people, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson, were spotted in New York City today looking hot and avoiding the rain. If the classic black outfits aren’t enough of a giveaway, they were filming a commercial for designer Dolce & Gabbana.

As if being dressed in amazing designer duds wasn’t enough, the pair shot scenes behind the wheel of an amazing car all while being directed by Martin Scorsese.

Earlier this spring, the pair were seen on location in Malibu filming another spot for the designer brand.

Personally, I’d like to know how much Dolce and Gabbana are spending on this campaign.

Check out all the images in the gallery above, and, if you’ve got the time, the pictures of ScarJo from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Christina Aguilera Is Back On ‘The Voice’ And Looking Better Than Ever

Christina Aguilera The Voice

Christina Aguilera has had more than her fair share of, shall we say, interesting looks throughout her career.

Don’t get me wrong, her music is strangely addictive considering how little she can actually relate with her fans. Well, it seems that she’s taken some notes and is ready to come back to The Voice looking like a normal person.

The singer and reality show judge posted the picture above on Facebook earlier today and I’ve got to say that I’m digging her style. Her hair is a normal height. Her make-up is fun, yet reserved. And her jacket is a fun nod to this Hipster Nation.

Keep it coming, Christina. You’ve only been back a short time, but have already come such a long way.
