| So Maybe Jay-Z Won’t Be Having a Concert on David Letterman’s Marquee Posted: 03 Jul 2013 12:23 PM PDT  Jay-Z‘s marquee concert atop the Ed Sullivan Theater in midtown New York is a no-go. The plans for Jay-Z to stage a concert on the marquee of the Sullivan Theater, where the Late Show with David Letterman is filmed, were initially approved, but a police source tells the New York Post that the decision has been reversed at the last minute. Representatives for Jay-Z, Letterman and city officials were supposed to meet Tuesday to iron out the final details, but that meeting was canceled at the last minute. The concert was scheduled for next Monday. The Post‘s source speculates that concerns about terrorism and/or fireworks are the city’s reason for canceling the show. However, another source guesses it may be because the NYPD was concerned about crowd control. The concert’s approval was widely reported and Jay-Z performing for free, in public in midtown Manhattan would likely draw a large crowd. Plans for a similar concert were scrapped in 2010 after someone leaked details about it to the Post which rendered it difficult to ensure everyone’s safety. No one from the mayor’s office, the Late Show with David Letterman, or Jay-Z’s camp has commented publicly about the cancelation. It’s unclear whether or not Jay-Z will still appear on Letterman’s show next week. He would have been promoting his upcoming album, “Magna Carta Holy Grail.” But thanks to a rule change by the RIAA this week, Jigga’s album is already guaranteed to be certified platinum, so it’s not like he really needs to do any promotion. |

| Watch: Rihanna Twerks To Drake Posted: 03 Jul 2013 10:25 AM PDT  Rihanna is giving twerk-lover Miley Cyrus a run for her money. The 25-year old singer’s pal Melissa Forde posted a video to her Instagram account on Monday, and it features the sexy star getting down to the sweet sounds of Drake. There’s no unicorn onesie involved, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a quality twerk session. Rihanna is seen wearing grey pants and the black crop-top she donned during a chance run-in with Jennifer Lawrence that same evening. Rihanna’s twerking soundtrack choice is sure to raise some eyebrows. The Bajan beauty’s ex Chris Brown has famously feuded with rapper Drake (a supposed former flame of Riri’s) — the two of them got into a widely publicized altercation at a New York City nightclub last year. Before heading to Berlin for her Diamonds World Tour on Tuesday, Rihanna was busy in Paris attending Haute Couture Fashion Week. Looks like she had time for an impromptu dance party, though. In a video interview with Billboard released this week, the magazine's cover girl shares her five favorite female singers. After describing "the most special person in the world," aka. her godmother and country legend Dolly Parton, Cyrus gushes about Lil' Kim. "In my past life, I feel like that was me . . . Lil' Kim is who I am on the inside," she says. "She just makes me happy, listening to her music. I just love her and I can't help that I love her.” Does this mean Miley was responsible for Kim's purple pasty disaster at the 1999 Grammy Awards? Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick were spotted leaving a movie theater with son Mason, 3, in Calabasas, Calif., on Tuesday, after taking in a showing of Monsters University. Kardashian clad in white denim cut-offs and a cream knit, walked hand-in-hand with her always-adorable 3-year-old, not far behind a stoic Disick, as they made their way to the car. The only thing missing from the family outing was the couple's 11-month-old daughter Penelope. Perhaps little P was on a play date with her new cousin North? |
| Jay-Z Debuts ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’ Album Cover Alongside an Original Magna Carta, Of Course Posted: 03 Jul 2013 08:13 AM PDT  Proof: Jay-Z is holier than thou. The rapper’s album cover art for his much-hyped Magna Carta… Holy Grail album — has been deemed divine enough for the house of God — specifically, the Salisbury Cathedral in England.
For the entire month of July, Jay-Z’s album art will be featured in a Salisbury art installation alongside one of the only four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta documents, according to the music mogul’s lifestyle website, Life + Times.
Magna Carta… Holy Grail will be released early to users of a Samsung app on Thursday, a full three days ahead of it dropping for the general public. As Samsung pre-ordered one million copies, the album will likely be certified platinum almost immediately. Now that’s the Holy Grail. |

| Tig Notaro Is Performing Stand-up in People’s Homes, Filming It Posted: 03 Jul 2013 07:01 AM PDT  It’s 3:20 a.m. (Do you know where your kids are?) You and your family are asleep in your home when you awake to the sound of a voice downstairs. Groggy and still unsure whether this is a dream or a Liam Neeson movie, you grab a baseball bat and head downstairs. Making sure you make no noise as you inch down the stairs (why did you bother to put your slippers on before confronting this intruder? why do we do anything we do?) you prepare yourself for what you’ll find in your living room. You hurl yourself around the corner, bat raised above your head and daggers in your eyes, where you find beloved comedian Tig Notaro performing a set in front of your sun-stained sectional sofa, a crew of cameramen filming the whole thing. Okay, that’s not exactly what’s happening, but it’s close. Next month, Tig Notaro will be performing her brutally honest stand-up in people’s homes. Showtime will film the whole thing and air a documentary about it, calling it Knock Knock, It’s Tig Notaro. To apply, you simply go to tigroadtrip.com and tell the crew “who you are and where you live, we want to know who you would invite to the show, and we want you to tell us why you would be the ideal host for a Tig Notaro performance. Finally, we want to know where you would ask Tig to perform; all ideas are welcome!” Notaro has done something similar in the past, performing at people’s homes with the Crackpot Comedy Tour in 2006. Notaro has been something of a rising star in the comedy world for quite some time now, but most will know her as the woman who began a 30-minute set at Largo in August of last year by announcing she had cancer: “Thank you, thank you, I have cancer, thank you, I have cancer, really, thank you.” That set has received the praise of many of her peers, including Ed Helms (who called it “one of the most amazing stand-up sets I’ve ever seen”) and Louis C.K. (“In 27 years doing this, I’ve seen a handful of truly great, masterful standup sets. But two things butted their way in to the couple’s dreamy date night — Stodden’s double d’s. Her newly boosted bosom stole the spotlight in that poor excuse for a little black dress as Stodden, 18, and Hutchinson, 52, smiled and waved for the flashing cameras. The teen bride has been parading her new bazongas — in bikinis and barely-there dresses — for peeping paparazzo ever since she upped her cup from a C to a DD with an all too predictable boob job, which she got because she was bored of push-up bras. Well, the implants worked like a charm. Now she is as free as a hippie. |

| ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Recap: Melissa’s Mysteries Unfold Posted: 03 Jul 2013 12:52 AM PDT  Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) did us all a favore and spilt the beans on Tuesday's episode of ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars providing the audience with some much needed answers to some lingering questions. Once confronted with the face of her past via a creepy mask, the elder Hastings sister revealed a whole laundry list of secrets to her sister while Aria (Lucy Hale) got real with Jake (Ryan Guzman); Hanna (Ashley Benson) learned more about her mother's possible involvement in Wilden's (Bryce Johnson) murder and Emily (Shay Mitchell) Note: Spoilers ahead if you haven't seen Tuesday's episode of PLL, "Face Time." Now, if Melissa is to be believed, the pride of the Hastings family may have just jumped to the top of the list of suspects in the "Who killed Det. Wilden?" mystery of Season 4A. After a hilarious (to me anyways) scene narrated by Spencer (Troian Bellisario) in which the liars set Melissa up to find her mask, Spence and Aria follow her older sister to Hector the mask maker's cabin. There, Spence finally confronts her sister, and the mysteries begin to unfold. Apparently, it WAS Melissa on the Halloween train with Wilden, though she didn't know he planned to kill her sister and Aria. She revealed that those working with Wilden to take down the girls were afraid of him. Not surprisingly, he was just a puppet in "A's" game and there was someone else pulling the strings. She also declared she's been trying to protect Spence from the start and indicated it was Wilden who started the fire that almost killed them at the lodge. When asked directly if she killed him, she replied, "Let it go, Spencer. If you don't, it will come apart in ways you can't even imagine." Because that always means no, right Melissa? Joining Melissa at the top of the suspect list is Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton). Heck, by episode's end, even her own daughter, Hanna, thinks she did it. Her suspicious behavior keeps getting sketchier and Detective Tanner (Roma Maffia) and Office Holbrook (Sean Faris) appear to be hot on her trail. I'm sure her awkwardness when showing them Wilden's safe deposit box didn't tip them off at all. Sense my sarcasm. Meanwhile, over in the capital of awkward town, Aria and Jake run into Ezra's son Malcolm. And when the little one questions why she doesn't come over anymore, Jake knows something is up. Thankfully, Aria comes clean with him and spills the whole story about Ezra, his family and their past. Being a rational, observant person (they make those in Rosewood?), Jake tells her there is no way her and Ezra (Ian Harding) are done. And I, well I, am just getting more Team Jake every day. Emily spends the episode attempting to get family services off her parents' backs but ends up doing the exact opposite. When Poppa Fields and her mom attempt to get some answers, their daughter runs off, which is dumb considering the circumstances. Em also learns her shoulder injury may be more serious than she thought. And Toby (Keegan Allen) continues to seek information about his mother's "suicide." Dr. Palmer, the physician who worked with her, gives one semi-coherent clue – he wanted her to stay away from an evil blond girl. So the plot thickens. Buzz Moments Thank you, TV gods.: For a Liar coming clean …After the most awkward moment of the episode (see below), Aria came clean with Jake about "Ezria." It was good to see one of the girls being truthful upfront and on their own for once. Awk-ward: Aria and Jake's run in with Malcolm outside the bookstore was cringe worthy! And her response that Ezra was "just her teacher" made it even more uncomfortable. Eek. Hotness: Don't hate me "Ezria" fans, but this Jake guy, he's a good one. Fab-u-lous: The fashion on PLL was as always, fantastic, on "Face Time." My favorites of the episode include Spencer's black All Saints dress and Hanna's DVF Peplum Top. Both items are on sale now and can be found through wornontv.net. Can. Not. Wait.: To see if the obvious answer is the right answer… Did Hanna's mom kill Wilden? Or did Melissa? Also, The PLLs head to college next week, well at least Em and Spence do. Celebuzz (1-10): 9. Sure they saved all the reveals for the last 10 minutes, but this is PLL, shouldn't we expect that by now. And hey, they were worth it! Hollywood will always be her true calling, but it’s just not quite enough to keep a bachelorette pad in the city. The stunning actress – who’s been happily showing off her French beau of seven months, Romain Dauriac, all over NYC – has sold her modest (by celeb standards) Tinseltown condo for $470,000 on June 17, Celebuzz has learned. According to property records, the 28-year-old Avengers star bought the high-rise digs in 2003 for a mere $372K and very well may have used it as an investment property over the last decade while she's been calling the Big Apple home. (And it paid off, putting an extra $100,000 in her pocket.) Records show she actually put it on the market in 2010, only to remove it twice within a few months. I guess third time’s the charm three years later. The designer 1-bedroom, 2-bath abode is completely remodeled with gleaming hardwood floors, marble countertops, stone and wood paneled walls, and other luxe features like a pool, gym, rec room, valet and 24-hour doorman all at her perfectly manicured fingertips. The top floor unit also has gorgeous views of the Hollywood Hills, Griffith Observatory, and Downtown L. A. and is just minutes from all the celeb attractions. | Breaking: Beyonce Eats In-N-Out Burger Posted: 03 Jul 2013 06:44 AM PDT  Forget what you’re reading about in the rest of the world today, because Beyonce just ate a burger and fries from In-N-Out. What? How did this happen? Did she stroll in late at night and wait on that long line and stare at the menu pretending to decide on something when all she wanted was that secret burger everyone in LA brags about? When she got to the counter, did she order said burger quietly, nervously, afraid of sounding like a tourist? And when she finally got her order, did she toss the bag onto the passenger seat and pick fries out of it, three-by-three, as she drove back home? Probably not. In fact, the photo she posted to Instagram Tuesday suggests she ate the burger in the most Beyonce way possible. For one thing, she hasn’t even touched the damn thing. (If it were you or me, it would have been gone in a second.) Secondly, she’s eating it with two champagne flutes, instead of a lukewarm soda (or, worse, beer). Thirdly, she has three laptops with her, which is about two and a half more than the number I currently have at home. But, hey, breaking news.

The Biebs shared two shirtless snaps of his very defined abs on Instagram this Monday, and we doubt he’ll be slowing down on the body-baring selfies any time soon. We’ve noticed Justin going sans top for a lot of his personal pics as of late. Usually there’s a backwards cap involved, too, if you’re considering mimicking the look this coming Halloween.
